UUCOD and Immigration Justice – A Conversation

Zoom

Join us for a conversation about how our congregation might be interested and able to engage with immigration justice and the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in our area. We'll talk about possible partners and about the congregation's possible level of commitment. Bring your ideas and your open minds.

The zoom link is in the weekly newsletter.

Formula on the Fourth

Introduced by the Social Justice Committee in January 2023. Donate formula, which will be given to Galilee Center for distribution to their families with babies.

Why donate formula rather than money? Due to shortages, stores have been setting tight limits on the number of cans per purchase. Our donations help Galilee Center hand out more formula each month to families with babies who are unable to buy it on their own.

Click through to see images of the only powdered formulas they will accept....

Even today, where the average person works 12+ jobs in a lifetime, many companies continue to enjoy the committed and experienced labor of long term employees. These humans dedicate nearly their entire working lives to companies, contributing a wealth of dedicated expertise, wisdom, and skills over decades. However, too often, the employment relationships end too abruptly in employees’ later years, and workers are able to fight back.
