2024 Annual Chili Cook-off and Pledge Drive Kick Off

Calling All Chili Chefs!

Do YOU have what it takes to be the 2024 Grand Champion Chili Chef?

Join us at UUCOD’s Chili Cook-Off. This will be an awesome beginning of our Annual Pledge Drive. It has been 3 years since we had a Chili Cook-Off and we’re ready for a fun afternoon of sampling chili, visiting with each other and awarding prizes.

The congregation will sample the chili and vote for their favorites. Chili will be judged in three categories: Vegan, Vegetarian and Chili with Meat. There will be prizes for the winners of each category and the absolutely amazing (tacky) perpetual trophy will go to the overall winner.

It takes a village to have a cook-off

You can help make our our Chili Cook-Off a success by volunteering. We need YOUR help

• Cooking Cornbread
• Setting up before the service with tables outside on the patio
• Setting up the Community Room with tables and chairs
• Enlisting chefs
• Helping with the awards
• Help with Decorating

Sign up to let us know if you will be entering your prizewinning chili or volunteering in another way.  Together we can make this a fun and successful event.

Registration ends on January 24 so that we have time to prepare for the event.

Chili Chef Instructions

Bring your cooked chili (preferably in a crock or instant pot) to the kitchen before service so we can plug in and keep your masterpieces warm during service. If you don’t have a crock pot, no worries, we will keep your pot warm on the stove. We expect about 90 people to taste chili …..
