Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine
Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) provides a local solution to a national problem – access to healthcare. The first uninsured, low-income patients walked through the doors of VIM new Health Center in November 2010. As the only no-cost healthcare center in the Coachella Valley, it took three years of planning to make the dream a reality. Now in Indio and Palm Springs, VIM provides primary medical care services, among many others, to adults who are uninsured or underinsured.
A visit to the VIM will avoid costly out-of-pocket expenses for uninsured patients, while providing them with high-quality, compassionate care. VIM is a member of Volunteers in Medicine, a national nonprofit alliance with more than 90 free clinics across the U.S., whose mission is to provide healthcare services in a compassionate, caring way to our neighbors in need.
There are over 30,000 people without insurance in the Coachella Valley, according to VIM Executive Director, Doug Morin.
Please be generous with your contribution and support this vital community service.
