Share the Plate

February’s Share the Plate has a Matching Challenge to Create a UUCOD Scholarship for Safe Schools Desert Cities.

Our beloved community will have the unique opportunity to sponsor its own scholarship for Safe Schools Desert Cities. Two members have generously issued a $500 matching challenge to fully fund a $1000 scholarship. This means if we collect $500 from the offering, they will match it with $500. If we raise a minimum of $1000, a scholarship will be listed as sponsored by UUCOD. How cool is that!

Share the Plate: Riverside County Bar Foundation

The law can be out of reach for so many, especially those in need and youth, but the Riverside County Bar Foundation works to change that. This non-profit charitable arm of the county’s principal bar association serves communities countywide, including the too-oft-neglected desert areas. Share the Plate – Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest Abortion Access Fund

On Tuesday, August 15, a fire broke out at Planned Parenthood’s Homan clinic in El Centro, the only provider of abortion services in Imperial County. The building was declared a total loss.  Fortunately, no staff or patients were injured and investigation sets the point of origin of the fire at an adjacent property. Nevertheless, Planned […]

Formula on the Fourth

Introduced by the Social Justice Committee in January 2023. Donate formula, which will be given to Galilee Center for distribution to their families with babies.

Why donate formula rather than money? Due to shortages, stores have been setting tight limits on the number of cans per purchase. Our donations help Galilee Center hand out more formula each month to families with babies who are unable to buy it on their own.

Share the Plate: The UUCOD Gloria Kapp Scholarship
