On the third Sunday of every month from October to June we share half of our plate collections with a non-profit 501c3 organization. The Share the Plate recipients have been nominated and elected by members and friends from a pool of non-profits organizations serving the Coachella Valley and surrounding desert cities.

How do we act as leaders and allies in the fight for justice in a world that is pushing us further and further apart? When is it our duty to be bold and when do we know to step back and listen? We learn from Palm Springs Councilmember Grace Garner about how being raised at UU Fellowship of the Desert (later UUCOD) taught her how to use her position to respect, protect, and speak out for justice even when it isn’t easy.
Join a discussion of ballott issues including the pros and cons of each proposition. We will use the California Voter Guide as our basis for understanding the implications of each proposition. We will review the positions taken by the UU Justice Ministry of California (UUJMCA) and endorsements from other organizations.
