What if the most spiritual thing you could do wasn’t searching for the right answer, but simply holding a question in love?
This past Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Desert, Reverend Ian Riddell’s “Ask Your Minister Anything” sermon challenged us to do just that. Instead of offering rigid dogma, he invited us to embrace the messy, beautiful reality of being human. From existential inquiries about the soul to deeply personal questions about justice and the role of a community in a fractured world, he reminded us that we are not separate entities—we are kin.
My favorite takeaway? The idea that we are “the universe playing hide and seek with itself.”
In a world that often demands certainty, UUCOD offers a space for curious minds and open hearts to sit with the “heavy weight of silence” and find connection in the process of discovery. Whether you are grappling with life’s big “why” questions or simply looking for a community that values your inherent worth, you’ll find a home here.
