UNIVERSALIST R.E. programs are peaceful, positive, non-dogmatic, and guilt-free.
UU CHILDREN learn about community and tradition, people and things around them, have the freedom to discover and express their own uniqueness, and gain understanding of their place in the interdependent web of life.
UU YOUTH choose from programs such as "How Others Worship," "How Can I Know What I Believe?" "The Nature of Peace and Justice" and "Exploring Racial Justice and Diversity." There is share time to talk about themselves and their concerns.
In 2019, our Children’s Religious Education Program is undergoing a visioning and redesign process. We plan offer a well-designed program soon. Please contact the Church Office for the schedule of Children’s Religious Education classes. The Church Office is currently open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 4 PM and Fridays from 10 AM to 3 PM and the number is 760-321-0694.
We currently have a youth program (junior high/high school) called Neighboring Faiths will begin as scheduled. Neighboring Faiths will sometimes meet on Sunday mornings at UUCOD, and it will also meet off site, and not always on a Sunday morning, because other faith communities have their services at other times. Please pay close attention to that schedule.
Due to low attendance of younger children, the Board of Director and the Children’s Religious Education Committee is beginning a visioning process that might help us make some choices about future religious education for children. Perhaps it is Family Friday Nights? Or a week of Peace Camp? Intergenerational worship or hiking? Of course, you are happily welcome to come to worship as a family any Sunday morning.
