We are living in a historic moment in time. Racism is deeply entrenched and tacitly embraced in our society and institutions. In this same
moment, resistance to (and awareness of) the poison of racism
is rising. How do those of us who are white respond to racism in
ourselves, our country and our communities? As spiritual practitioners
can we include the vital practice of waking up together?
In these workshops we will explore how white culture perpetuates bias and
seek methods to reduce prejudice. Rooted in an historical context, we
will analyze how contemporary institutional and structural
oppression imposes power that harms all. We will explore our own
personal experience with race, and as discomfort and resistance arise,
we will seek to understand before judging, leading to transformation and
